APRF
APRF stands for Advanced Platelet Rich Fibrin, a medical technology that uses a patient’s blood to stimulate cell growth and bone regeneration. It’s used to treat a variety of conditions, including oral surgery.
How it works
- A blood sample is collected from the patient.
- The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate it into different parts.
- The platelet-rich fibrin is skimmed off the top of the tube.
- The platelet-rich fibrin is used at the surgical site.
Benefits
- APRF is a natural part of the patient’s body, so it contains no additives.
- APRF is more effective than Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) because it contains more leukocyte cells.
- APRF releases growth factors and cytokines that accelerate healing.
Uses
- Oral surgery: APRF can be used for bone grafting, dental implant placement, sinus grafting, and more.
