Meet Dr. Garfinkel

A native of Florida, Dr. Garfinkel has enjoyed private practice for over 20 years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in 1985 and is a graduate from Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston in 1989. He completed a four-year specialized residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Florida Health Science Center in 1993. He completed another mini surgical residency at the Florida Cosmetic and Hair Transplant Center.

Dr. Garfinkel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons, Fellow of the AAOMS and is a member of the Dental Society of Greater Orlando, FDA and ADA. He has lectured and has served as President of the MId Florida Study Club and Vice Chairman of Florida Hospital Winter Park.  He has worked with dental students and residents as an Associate Professor at the University of Florida Apopka Dental Clinic.  Dr Garfinkel was appointed as a direct consultant to United Health Care Insurance Company and is on medical staff at ORHS.  He has been voted as one of the Top Dentist Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons in Orlando Dental Magazine by his peers.  He recently was interviewed by nationally syndicated Real Life 101 TV show.

His special interests include jaw reconstructive surgery from accidents and growth abnormalities, dental implantology, jaw pathology, facial plastics and laser surgery, and removal of wisdom teeth with conscious/deep sedation anesthesia.

He loves the outdoors; playing tennis, scuba diving, fishing and snow skiing.  He and his wife live in Longwood and have four children, two boys and identical twin girls.
